Commonly known as “Fountain of the Twelve Spouts”. This fountain is supplied by the Santa Brigida hill aquifer and was built in 1899 by the local sculptor, Isidoro Sanchez.

This place is so important that one of the first two neighborhoods of the municipality was named in honor of it, Barrio de la Fuente.

Its main characteristic is that it supplies water to corrals and orchards, to two fountains, Fountain of the Immaculate Conception and Venice Fountain, to two watering troughs, and to two public washhouses, the old one located to the right of the fountain of our Lady of Carmen and the Venice.

Description of the building.

Its original design was a teardrop-shaped structure, with a staircase that gave access to the water that accumulated in a circular basin located in the center.

At present, the upper part is built with whitewashed brick, previously stuccoed. You can see a wall flanked by two pilasters, topped by an architrave and a semicircular arch decorated with two vases. In the center of the arch there is a coat of arms of Castile and Leon as well as two landscape scenes, and it is crowned by a terracotta coat of arms with two female statues. In the central part there are two other murals. The lower part of the fountain is made of marble and the waterspouts were made of bronze.

It should be noted that the wall decor has undergone several changes over the years. During the Second Republic, the ladies of the fountain were decorated with the Republican colors, and then painted white in 1936 upon the arrival of Franco’s troops. In 2016, after the restoration of the fountain, the female figures regained their colors.
